Video Games

I love video games. It’s as simple as that.

I think they offer an experience that is hard to find anywhere else. Great video games are books and films taken to the next level. They stimulate the mind, help develop a variety of skills, more than that they transport you to a whole new world and provide you with first hand experinces that border reality. Games like Half-Life 2, Fallout 2, Call of Duty, Bioshock, Crysis, GTA4, create alternative worlds, where we are free to learn, experience, and have fun without the consequences of the real world.

Due to the strong feelings I have towards this medium, I get really worked up when people try to downplay it as some sort of bullshit waste of time, and more than that as potentially “dangerous”. “Video game addiction” is a term that is being thrown around a lot lately, hell my mother today compared video gamers to alcoholics WTF! What is more frustrating is that most of, if not all the people making such statements, have never played the games they talk about or video games at all.

Can’t everyone just agree to keep our mouths shut about subjects we absolutely have no knowledge and experience in.

K?! Thnx.
